Snow lovers, here’s your next getaway

Looking for a true snow globe–style winter getaway? Three New England destinations—Caribou, Maine; North Conway, New Hampshire; and Stowe, Vermont—were just ranked among the best places in America for snow lovers. I’ve visited two of the three (Caribou is still on my list), and both deliver a classic winter-wonderland vibe. Notably, North Conway was also named the best ski town in the country.

Travel Tips

Head to Brattleboro, Vermont, this holiday season, where 90 storefront windows have been transformed into whimsical miniature worlds for the Brattleboro Festival of Miniatures. Adding to the charm, local restaurants are serving up mini menus. The festival runs through Dec. 31.

North Conway, long celebrated for its skiing and snowy scenery, is ringing in the new year with a festive New Year’s Night Out. Many of the activities are free, including two fireworks displays, a vintage train ride, a village-wide scavenger hunt, and more.
