Authorities told the press about a drunken driver who allegedly got a woman killed and left the crime scene. He was already facing charges of operating under substance abuse. Gregory Colandris of Hyde Park was brought before West Roxbury District court and booked under the charges of operating under influence and left the scene of accident which caused the death of his 25 year passenger Mercedes Leary.
Colandris, 22, crashed a pickup truck which was owned by Leary’s father into a tree. The accident place at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Police tracked him down by using information from Leary’s cell phone. He was found bloody and smelling of alcohol. He was immediately taken into custody and was asked to blow a .037 breathalyzer.
