Is FIFA 2026 coming to Massachusetts? Will Foxborough Gillete Stadium make the cut?

You may already be aware that FIFA 2026 will be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. But you don't know yet whether Massachusetts will be hosting any of the FIFA world cup soccer games. Foxborough, Massachusetts is a possible candidate and it will be clear on June 16 where Massachusetts soccer fans will get to watch some games here.

It will also mean we taxi cab drivers in Boston, MA will get some business driving people to Foxborough Gillette Stadium. Foxborough is around 22 miles from Boston Downtown. If the Gillette stadium gets to host a game it will generate a lot of traffic between Boston and Foxborough.

Out of 17 potential sites to be chosen as destination cities for the 2026 World Cup 10 remain to be decided. FIFA will announce the remaining 10 locations will announce the chosen cities on 16th June.

With just 10 sites available for the U.S., Foxboro is one of 17 possible U.S. host cities - from an initial list of 23 possible host cities, as well as Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville New York, New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle and Washington, DC. Seven cities will miss this big opportunity.

The 2026 FIFA Soccer World Cup will be the largest event to date. It will feature 80 matches and it is going to be the first instance when three countries will be hosting it together.
