On 9th August 2013, a major accident took place in north of downtown Boston. Due to this crash Boston highway was temporally closed. This incident happened when a small beer truck lost control and hit the guardrail. Truck was badly damaged and the impact of the accident took the truck over the bridge’s guardrail and it was half hanging over the bridge.
According to the state police the crash was reported after 2 p.m. on Interstate 93 northbound near Exit 28 and due to that the highway was closed for around 2-3 hours. At that time people of Boston faced huge traffic problems on that highway and they stuck there for hours.
20 gallons of engine fuel was leaked onto the accident place and because of that there were high possibility of increasing trouble on the highway. Large amount of chemical solution spread onto the road by the Boston fire department to contain the spilled fuel and to make the road safer for other people to travel.
Later, personnel from Fire department declared that the passenger and driver got out of the vehicle and were not hurt. Both were taken to the hospital for minor treatments.
